I guess it’s been a good day. Interesting mix. Very Buckaroo Banzai with the Brother accent if you’ve seen the movie. Aliens colonizing Earth yada yada… Black men falling from pods… watermelon. This has an acid jazz sound and feel that goes well with the syncopated lyrics and standard forms of verse. The imagistic word play tempting us to come to the next world is fun to go along with and draws me into the tune. As such, the relatively canned music and samples are way more digestible than usual. The resonant voice of the singer/talker/rapper/ orator is captivating. The vocal could need limiting as it peaks just one too many times. Other than that, nothing stuck out and knocked me off the groove, which was surfing deep in the pocket most of the way. Fleet of Nations successfully fires off the next booster in this futurist artist’s creative space journey. Bon Voyage, Captain!
